Sagebrush and Pine Soap Co.

Sagebrush and Pine Soap Co., LLC started after Colter joined our family 6 weeks early. After a month in the NICU, and newfound medical complexities, he needed goats milk due to his anemia and inability to digest cows milk. Living in rural Wyoming, we sought out and brought home a couple milking dairy goats. These girls have not only nourished our “one in 13,000” little boy (he has a rare syndrome), but also has become a daily therapy for he and I, and also a way for me to bring in some income. We now have four Saanen milking girls and I’ve learned how to make beautiful handmade soaps and lotions that many people have repeatedly ordered, so they must be good!! I now ship these soaps and lotions all over the world!  I know many people out there have sensitive skin like our Colter, so I make several unscented versions of everything I make. Everything is made during naptime or bedtime and made with a whole lot of love!

I try to use only natural ingredients in my soaps. The colors usually come from different edible powders (example: wheatgrass powder), ground cinnamon (brown), turmeric (orange), cocoa (dark brown). I infuse fresh picked white sage in oil for a lovely dark green (and sage smell), also. I love that you don’t need artificial colors to get beautiful soaps, although sometimes I use mica, not often though and I state when I do.

In my tallow soaps, I use grass-fed local beef that I render down into tallow. I also use fat from harvested elk and deer that our family consume as well as friends. Tallow is fantastic for your skin and how cool to use something usually tossed away. Using more of an animal makes my heart happy.
